Taking Charge of Emotions

How do you command your emotions so that they don’t control you but still feel love, joy, passion and compassion with great depth?
It’s like controlling yoyo strings – you know how you can allow the yoyo to drop holding onto the string but letting go and them using skill and precision to bring it back to you only to release it again, all while observing the motion. Only imagine that you can release the yoyo in any direction, sometimes letting go and sometimes pushing. The yoyo is the emotion, the use of the strings is your ability to push, pull, direct and release energy like a skilled Qigong master and the observer is not your mind but your consciousness, your higher self. Each emotion has a message and a story to tell which needs to be honored and brought close to fully experience its wisdom and become intimate with its whisper. That emotion needs to wash through you, informing you and building upon your strength and depth like silt deposits of a flooded plain providing nourishment in which to grow. The quickest and truest way to hear, understand and integrate the message is to be fully observant and aware like an eagle watching the detail of a prey from a distance but at the same time giving it the honor of allowing it to come close and be truly felt. Being the master of the strings always knowing when to pull, when to push and when to release. The journey of life lived to its fullest is to know which emotional deposits need to be held and built upon becoming mounds of strength, resilience and love and which ones need to be fully released and allowed to retreat like water held by a sieve.
In Gratitude and Love.
