The Jack Rabbit Mind

The mind of a jack rabbit. Those times when your focus and attention is scattered beyond repair. Or at least it feels like an unreignable beast. There are good jack rabbit times and not good jack rabbit times – either one does require a gleaming of observation and a gathering of attention like a reeling of strings. The central rod is the heart and the observer your inner knower. On those not so good days your mind is an erratic dart, zig zagging with lists of tasks of shoulds and musts along with a whirlwind of stress and anxiety for what has been or what may be coming. Unable to settle, your attention scattered, your efficiency and effectiveness diminished and your pleasure not present.
On those good jack rabbit days, you are the dreamer – the idealist and visionary of endless possibilities – of ways to improve and new ventures to embark. Lost in a world of longing without settling on direction those dreams become distractions and the source of a yearning from emptiness in the now with a shrug of voice saying “as if”, “in your dreams”. Once again, the focus is scattered, the dreams not actioned on and the present is lost. The worry of past, the anxiety of future – the dreams of what’s to come and the comparison of now all need to be gathered and observed. Attentively listen to the wisdoms they bring. Are there stresses that need to be released? Are you on the right path? Are you paying attention to what your true self needs? Are you honoring your ideals and your dreams enough to bring then into focus and take the step to action upon them? Hold the dream and the vision, but understand fully that our ideas of what may lay ahead as well as the size and scope of the possibilities is as limited as if you where blind folded and not realizing there are ten paths when you only know one.
So where does the attention reside and how do we calm the jack rabbit within? By gathering your attention, your focus and your awareness and placing it squarely in now. The present has the power to release the worries and stresses of past and future while being the most potent source of all possibilities. A potential beyond the known and limited by nothing. The requirement is trust and faith to allow the unfolding of the blossom that is you.
In Gratitude and Love.
